DAXXIFY™
Most people have heard of BOTOX® Cosmetic—the injectable treatment prized for its ability to smooth the dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movement. A new FDA-approved treatment, DAXXIFY, offers BOTOX patients a longer-lasting option in Harrisburg, PA.

What Is DAXXIFY™?
DAXXIFY is a neuromodulator in the same class as BOTOX or Dysport®. Its active ingredient is botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily blocks nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This relaxes the targeted muscles and reduces the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles.
The FDA approved DAXXIFY for use on moderate and severe frown lines based on clinical trial data gathered from more than 2,700 patients and 4,200 treatments. Researchers observed no significant treatment-related side effects.
What Makes DAXXIFY Different?
Clinical studies show that DAXXIFY lasts longer than other neuromodulators. After BOTOX treatment, most patients experience improvement for up to 4 months. In contrast, DAXXIFY typically delivers results that last 6 months, with some patients seeing results for up to 9 months.
DAXXIFY is also unique because it’s the only neuromodulator formulated with a novel peptide. Peptides are composed of amino acids—the building blocks of proteins. Similar products contain human serum albumin (a protein found in human blood) or animal-based protein. This difference may help DAXXIFY’s wrinkle-smoothing effects last longer than other neuromodulators.
How Does DAXXIFY Work?
When DAXXIFY is injected into the face, it acts similarly to BOTOX by delivering a botulinum toxin that blocks specific nerve signals to the targeted facial muscles. Because the muscles are temporarily unable to contract, wrinkles and furrows relax.
The Procedure
You’ll discuss your treatment goals with Dr. Gayner during an initial consultation. He’ll then examine your face and determine the injection sites that will provide you with the best possible results.
Most Stratis Gayner patients experience little or no discomfort from cosmetic injections, describing them as a sensation similar to a slight pinch. Anesthesia isn’t required, but Dr. Gayner can numb the treatment area with a cold pack if you wish.
DAXXIFY treatment can be completed in as little as 10 minutes.
Recovery and Results
As with BOTOX, you can return to most of your usual daily activities immediately after your treatment. Initial results appear quickly, generally within 1 or 2 days of treatment. You’ll continue to see gradual improvement over about 4 weeks.
Results last 6 months on average, but some DAXXIFY patients enjoy their results for as long as 9 months.
Complementary Treatments
To enhance the results of your DAXXIFY treatment, you might consider adding dermal filler injections. Dermal fillers complement the effects of neuromodulators by filling in static wrinkles and folds and restoring volume lost to the aging process.
